Dave Knee

Dave Knee, 64, of Marion, passed away from lung cancer on Monday, November 15, 2010 at his home surrounded by his wife and two sons. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010, at New Covenant Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Tye Male. Family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his wife of 36-years, Mary; sons, Andrew Knee of Portland, OR, and Eric Knee at home; a brother, Daniel (Lynn) Knee of Ft. Wayne, IN; sisters-in-law, Bev Knee of Wabash, IN and Donna (Brian) Miller of Marion, brothers-in-law, Steve (Sandy) Clabough, and Dave Clabough, both of Marion; his father-in-law, Francis Clabough of Marion; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Shelley) Knee, Kathy (Mike) Fouts, Erin (Mike) Doughtery, Mark (Jenny) Knee, Todd (Amy) Hartke, Chad (Deanna) Hartke, Cari, Jessy, and Spencer Clabough.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norman; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Clabough.
Dave was born November 10, 1946, in Wabash, IN, the son of Harold L. and Mildred E. Knee. He graduated from Wabash High School and Coe College with a degree in business and history. On November 22, 1974, Dave was united in marriage to Mary Clabough in Marion, IA. Dave worked 40 years at Rockwell-Collins, most recently in Service Center Support. He enjoyed kidding around with his co-workers.
Dave enjoyed traveling, jazz, history, and was proud to be an Indiana Hoosier. He liked spending time on the golf course with his regular foursome golf buddies. He had a great sense of humor and an unforgettable laugh. You could always count on him for a hug and a helping hand.
Dave loved being a dad, and especially treasured times with his boys, Andy and Eric. He always looked forward to family celebrations and traveling back to Indiana. He was especially close to his two brothers, who he always admired. Dearest to his heart were his wife, two sons, family, and his lap-buddy, Max, the family cat.
