Dave A. Cress, 62, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Center Point, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville, Iowa.
Dave was born January 25, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Curtis and Rosina (Bischof) Cress. He graduated from Center Point High School and as a youth he was a farm-hand. Dave also worked in the janitorial field and recycling system. He loved crossword puzzles, country western music, playing pool and rock collecting.
Dave is survived by his brother, Mel (Marianne) Stanard of Cedar Rapids and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Rosina; and brothers, Tom Cress and Bob Stanard.
Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army in Dave’s memory.
