Daryl “Moose” Jon Dettbarn, 55, formerly of Wadena passed away Wednesday, August 06, 2014 at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point, following a brief illness.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Manchester are assisting with arrangements.
Daryl was born November 21, 1958 in Manchester, the son of Lloyd and Rose (Becker) Dettbarn. Growing up in Earlville, Daryl attended school at St. Joseph’s School in Earlville and the Maquoketa Valley Schools in Delhi. Daryl worked in the construction field for many years.
Daryl is survived by his mother, Rose Dettbarn; three brothers, Doug (Wendy) Dettbarn, Dana (Pam) Dettbarn, and Dan (Jane) Dettbarn; two daughters, Heather (William) Sullivan and Casey (Tom) Dettbarn-Heald; and three grandchildren, Avery, Ryder and Eve and many nieces and nephews.
Daryl was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Dettbarn and his grandparents.
