Darlene E. Schonfeldt, 85, of 6325 Rockwell Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center. Private graveside service: Pacific View Park Cemetery, Newport Beach, California. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends at Keystone Cedars. Darlene was most proud to be a great-great-great Aunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; two sisters, Pauline Terrill and Lorraine Drake; a brother, Clair (Dutch) Keenan; infant twin brother and sister; and an infant brother.
Darlene was born April 11, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Kearns) Keenan, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Theodore Schonfeldt on October 29, 1988, in California. In 1941, Darlene worked at Wright Patterson Airfield Base in Dayton, Ohio. She then started her career at GE at Dayton, Ohio and moved to California with GE and worked another 35 years. For 17 years, Darlene and her husband Ted coached little league baseball in California. She was a Cincinnati Reds Fan and loved horses and horse racing at Santa Anita.
