Darlene E. Parker, 83, of Manchester died at the Good Neighbor Home, Wednesday, August 18, 2010.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Chapel in Manchester with Rev. Mary Green officiating. Family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m, Saturday, prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Darlene Ella Parker was born December 22, 1926 in Manchester, the daughter of Prentice Charles and Alice (Coleson) Marrs. She received her education at the Manchester Schools. On September 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to George W. Parker at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Four children were born to this union.
Darlene through the years worked at the Manchester High School lunch program, Hi Ho Café, the Crawford Cafe, was an Avon Representative for 30 years, babysat and was a homemaker always caring for her family with her unconditional love for her children and grandchildren and will always be remembered.
Darlene is survived by four children; Keith (Shari) Parker of Manchester, Gregg (Susan) of Dexter, OR, Kevin (Yolanda) Parker of San Antonio, TX, and Nancy Chapman of Manchester; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lillian Hillers; and many friends, nieces, nephews and special cousins, Dick (Harriet) Lewis, Darrell (Barb) Lewis, Elaine Briggman, and Alyce Walters.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, George Parker in 1996, her parents, an infant son, Kirk; and an infant grandson, Ezra; an infant sister, Ruth; sister-in-law, Dora Noble and a brother-in-law, Sidney Parker.
