Darlene Dorothy Bursovsky (Heddinger)

Darlene D. Bursovsky, 84, of Ridgeview Assisted Living, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Marion, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, in Hiawatha, on Friday, December 30, 2011. Services: 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2012, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Pastor Don McGarvey. The family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Joanne (Frank) Byrns of Marion, William (Belinda) Bursovsky of Swisher, Steve (Jody) Bursovsky of Alburnett and Mary (Chan) Phan of Marion; grandchildren, Lisa (John) Elmore, Chris (Sheri) Morehouse, Nathanial (Amber) Byrns, Breonna (Aaren) Patrick, Brent Edgett, Shannon Bursovsky, Kim (Kent) Backen, Crystal (James) Lynn, Jason (Jodi) Phan and Kevin Phan.
Also surviving are 19 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her sister, Bernadine (Bruce) Hamlett; sister-in-law, Kay Heddinger; and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Harold Heddinger.
Born October 5, 1927, in Bremer County, Darlene was the daughter of Arthur and Ceva (Blough) Heddinger. A lifelong resident of Marion, Darlene married William Bursovsky on June 1, 1943, in Mankato, Kansas. She was a housewife, mother and grandma.
Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family. Her biggest desire was for people to know the Lord.
A memorial fund has been established in Darlene’s memory.
