Darlene I. Adney, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, January 15, 2010, in Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Deacon Gene Price. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Blackburn and Gerald Blackburn; eight step children; five grandchildren; many step grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a brother, Leroy Blackburn; and several nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents; and five siblings.
Born November 14, 1932, in Toddville, Iowa, Darlene was the daughter of Walter and Bessie (Jellison) Blackburn. On July 10, 1961, she was united in marriage to Walter Adney. He died in 1979. Darlene worked at Mercy Hospital.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
