Darla R. Frentress, 72, of Earlville, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, IA. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral & Cremation Service in Manchester where the family will greet friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, prior to services. Burial: St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Manchester, IA at a later date.
Darla was born September 17, 1940 in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Raymond and Florence (Horner) Mesch. Following graduation from high school, Darla attended beauty school in Chicago, IL. On May 11, 1963, Darla was united in marriage to Alvin Frentress at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester.
Darla spent most of her life as a homemaker but assisted Alvin with the bookkeeping at Al Frentress and Sons. Darla enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and going on car cruises and the parks. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Darla was survived by three children, Wayne (Kimberly) of Elkader, Kelly (Jannell Boeckenstedt) of Manchester, Paul of Earlville; two brothers, Marvin Mesch of Kentucky and Richard Mesch of Dubuque; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Darla was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in February of 2012; and her parents.
