Daniel Eugene Starks

Daniel Eugene Starks, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, December 15, 2003, in St. Luke?s Hospital. The family will greet friends today (Sunday) from 1 to 5 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include a son, Shannon Starks and wife Melissa of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Lynn Hodges of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Shirley Sander of Marion; and a sister, Sherry Franklin and husband Denny of Phoenix, Arizona.
Also surviving are two grandsons, Daylan and Steele Starks; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Starks.
Dan was born the son of Donald and Shirley (Dew) Starks on July 26, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Central City High School in 1968. Dan was a self-employed painter in the Cedar Rapids and Marion area for many years.
Dan enjoyed being in the outdoors and loved to fish, hunt and swim.
A memorial fund has been established in Dan?s memory.
