Daniel D. Jones

Daniel D. “Casey” Jones, 59, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully in his home, Monday, May 18, 2009. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Carnes Jones; a son, Matt (Barb) Jones; a daughter, Kelly (Greg) Scheffert; a step-daughter, Christie Shaver; a step-son-in-law, Brandon Nesteby; seven grandchildren, Payton, Kourtney, Bailey, Blakelee, Gavin, Brooke, and Taylor; his brother, David (Julie) Jones; two sisters, Alicia (Glen) Geiger and Vanessa Jones; a special companion, Tuff Enuff; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Daniel was born March 3, 1950, the son of Donald and Mary (Carnes) Jones in Cedar Rapids. He graduated in 1968 from LaSalle High School. Daniel worked for the City of Cedar Rapids for thirty years. He enjoyed Harley’s, cooking, and his family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Daniel’s memory.
