Daniel J. ""Joe"" Rozek

Daniel J. "Joe? Rozek, 59, of Hopkinton, formerly of Toddville, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007, in his home, following a sudden illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Del Bear, with military honors. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, rural Toddville.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; their eight children, Shawn (Pam) Rozek of Cedar Rapids, Chris Rozek of Shueyville; Ryan (Jessi) Rozek of Amana, Lance (Traci) Rozek of Center Point, Richard (Laura) Ritze of Troy Mills, Raelinn (Kenny) Ritze of Council Bluffs, Racheal Ritze of Hopkinton and Robbie Ritze of Alburnett; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Steven (Judy) Rozek of Fort Dodge and Charles (Mary) Rozek of Toddville; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Danny was born March 2, 1947, the son of Lloyd and Margaret (Swick) Rozek, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A 1965 graduate from Alburnett High School, he served with the United States Marines during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970. On October 23, 1996, Danny married Peggy Moneypenny Ritze in Toddville. He worked as an Industrial Insulator with the Asbestos-Insulator Local 81, where he was a lifetime member.
Military honors provided by American Legion 298.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Danny.
