Daniel M. Collins
October 27, 1961 — August 4, 2003
Dan M. Collins, 41, of 1019 9th Street SW, died peacefully at his parent?s home, surrounded by his family, on Monday evening, August 4, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. In honor of Dan?s wishes, the body will be cremated and a family graveside service will be held at a later date. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life, Friday, August 8, 2003, starting at 4:00 p.m. at his sister, Penny?s home, 1456 Seneca Rd., Swisher (West of Swisher, follow signs).
Survivors include his loving parents, Chuck and Elaine Coulbourn; a brother, Tom (Deb) Collins; sisters, Penny (Bob) Dullea; Connie (Mike) Bamsey and Cindy (Greg) Cason.
He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews; an uncle; two aunts; and many wonderful cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vern and Ida Ray; his paternal grandfather, Charles Coulbourn; and his special beloved companion, "Red?.
Dan was born October 27, 1961, the son of Charles and Elaine Ray Coulbourn, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He formerly worked for Darrah?s Towing and Sunline, Inc. Dan was an avid fan of NASCAR and Elvis and he enjoyed showing his husky, "Red?. He will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Dan was a special part of all of our lives.
A special thanks to his parents for caring for him the past few weeks and also to the PITAS.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established by the family in memory of Dan.
