Cynthia J. Edaburn Bries, 71, of Manchester died Monday, April 25, 2011.
Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Manchester United Methodist Church by Rev. Roger Henry. Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Manchester. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Greeley.
Cindy was born November 1, 1939 in Lynn, Massachusetts, the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (Fessesden) Brown. She grew up in Phoenix, Arizona graduating from North Phoenix High School in 1957. On June 21, 1958, Cindy was united in marriage to Marshall Edaburn for 15 years. The couple moved to Iowa in 1959. Later in life, she married Roger Bries. Cindy worked as a Manchester Meter Maid for 11 years before becoming a Dispatcher for the City of Manchester, working for the City and County for a total of 35 years before retiring.
Cindy was known for her beautiful roses and as a talented quilter. She was a part of two quilting groups, enjoyed crafts, and belonged to the “Red Hat” Society.
Cindy is survived by four children, Jenny (Larry) Gronewold, Ron Edaburn, Penny (Jeff) Boeckenstedt, and Ken (Lisa) Edaburn; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild expecting in July.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Dorothy Brown and her only brother, Richard Brown.
“Cindy would like you to keep her in your memory by helping a friend or stranger by supporting them by giving them a ride when needing radiation or chemotherapy treatment.”
A memorial fund has been established in Cindy’s memory.
