Cornelia “Corky” Stefl, 83, died at Monday, October 7, 2013 at Marietta’s Place at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, IA.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013 presided by Deacon Dave Loecke at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Manchester. Family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the services on Saturday.
Corky was born December 15, 1929 in Hatley, WI, the daughter of Philip and Anastasia “Stasia” (Stoltz) Easker. She graduated from Birnamwood High School in 1947. In November 1947, Corky was united in marriage to Elmer Stefl. To this union was born five children. The couple later divorced.
Corky worked for over 30 years as a bookkeeper for Don & Walt Heating Contractor in Manchester. Corky was an avid bowler belonging to many bowling leagues for over 40 years. She also enjoyed bingo.
Corky is survived by four children, Sharon (Gary) Luebbe of Weston, WI, JoAnn (John) Kopf of Center Point, James (Linda) Stefl of Osage, and Cindy Long of Dubuque; grandchildren, Tammy Streveler, Allen Luebbe (fiancé, Kristin Epp), Jennifer (Joe) Wendel, Jolene (Mark) Behrens, John Scott (Michelle) Kopf, Cherie (Tony) Sorensen, Andrea (Rob) Vierkant, Laura Stefl, Mark Stefl, Corina (Doug) Cady, and Ryan (Angel) Long; great-grandchildren, Brooke, and Paige Streveler, Taylor, Trenton, Aleah, Faith, Nevaeh, Josiah, and Jaybin Kopf, Aaron and Andrew Wendel, Brody Behrens, Mason and Austin Sorensen, Sydney and Parker Vierkant, Logan, Landon, and Atton Long.
Corky was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Connie Whitman; and a son-in-law, Greg Long.
