Colleen was born on October 17, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lauren and Beulah (Hagerman) Power. She graduated from Central City High School. Colleen married Ronald P. Kula on October 23, 1981, in Anamosa, Iowa. She was employed as a bartender at McNamara’s Bar & Grill, Mark’s Key Lounge, and Blue Front. Her favorite place of employment was at home babysitting the neighborhood kids. Colleen enjoyed crocheting, knitting, puzzle books, and spending time with those she loved. Watching her two sons grow up was a special accomplishment. There is so much more that can be said about her, but all you have to do is turn your head and ask the person next to you and you will hear a story about Colleen.

She is survived by her son, Shane Power of Central City; grandchildren, Lauren Power, Ashley (Louis Flockhart) Petersen, Mya Power and Keara Power; siblings, Donna Hanson, Donald (Pat) Power and Marlene (Joe) Nagel.

Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald P. Kula; son, Shawn P. Power; parents, Lauren and Beulah Power; brothers, Virgil Power and Derral Power; half-sister, Violet Power; and brother-in-law, Trumen Hanson.

A memorial fund has been established in Colleen’s memory.
