Cody A. Simon
September 29, 1990 — March 1, 2014
Cody Simon was born on September 29, 1990, and passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2014, in Faribault, MN where he resided and worked at McDonough Truck Line Incorporated.
Family was important to Cody and he enjoyed spending time with his sister, Caitlin. Cody had a good sense of humor and enjoyed joking and laughing. During his time on the farm, he learned the importance of hard work and dedication. Cody had a passion for horses and music and he enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands. In high school Cody was an Eagle Scout and ran cross country. Cody graduated from Marion High School in 2008. Shortly after, Cody had the opportunity to travel to China where he worked in hospitality for a short period of time. He appreciated the Chinese culture and hoped to return there one day and to have other opportunities to travel abroad.
He recently accepted the Lord as his savior.
Cody is survived by his mother, Wendy Blackford and sister, Caitlin Carpenter; grandparents Jerry and Susan Wikert; Connie and George Marnin; Steve Simon and Pattie Bell; and many, many, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion, Iowa. A luncheon will follow.
