Clyda Ellistene Carpenter, 88, of Monticello, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Monticello Nursing & Rehab Center, Monticello, Iowa. Services will be at a later date.
Clyda was born March 12, 1926, to her parents, Ellis and Eva (Heald) Stanley, in Whittier, Iowa.
She graduated from Olney Friends School, Barnesville, Ohio, and became a fabricator for Rockwell. She married Howard Carpenter on November 11, 1944.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; their children, Alan (Leslie Parker) Carpenter and Paul (Belinda Drtirna) Carpenter, all of Washington state, Amy (Chuck) Carpenter Wilcox and David (Kandi Kahl) Carpenter, all of Anamosa, Iowa; a daughter-in-law Diona Carpenter; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Stanley Carpenter, a granddaughter, Lori, and her sisters, Lorene, Irma, Hazel and Wilma.
