Clifford D. Goldsberry, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, December 27, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Joan; his children, Krista of Iowa City and Robb (Trish) of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Brittney, Haley and Calvin; a brother, Chester (Mary Lou) Jr; and nine sisters, Sharlene (James) Flynn, Janice (Alston) Brooks, Karen Pitcher, Marcine (Doug) Luke, Cheryl Goldsberry, Marilyn (David) Welsh, Lynda (Mick) Lynch, Sherrie (Jim) Justice and Julie (Gary) Ambach.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Randolph Lehs; and sister-in-law, Wanda Schlatter.
Cliff was born May 13, 1935, the son of Chester and Maxine (Sullivan) Goldsberry, in Mitchell, South Dakota. He served his country with the United States Army. On December 16, 1963, Cliff was united in marriage to Joan Schlatter in Kahoka, Missouri. For 46 years, he worked at Varns & Hunter Motor Supply, retiring in 2000. Cliff was a past Master of the Mt. Herman Lodge #263, A.F. & A.M., and Cedar Valley Amateur Radio Club.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Cliff.
