Cliff Grother, 67, of 535 10th Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 10, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2005, at Toddville Free Methodist Church, Toddville, Iowa, by Pastor Doug Morris. The family will greet friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his sons, Clifford Grother III of Cedar Rapids, Gifford Grother of Florida, and Rod Grother of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Debbie Hudson and Becky Quinby both of Cedar Rapids; sons-in-law, Dan Quinby, Kevin Hudson, and William Clinton; daughters-in-law, Mary Grother, Julie Grother, and Barb Coad; grandchildren, Josh Grother, Jesse Grother, Jason Coad, Scott Grother, Crystal Grother, Austin Grother, Justus Stick, Raylynn Stick, Heidi Grother, Jesse Stick, Danny Grother, Jordan Stick, Jennifer Franks, Jessica Franks, Matthew Franks, Ashley Hudson, Keegan Hudson, Tara Chiafos, Mark Becicka, Aaron Quinby, Daniel Quinby, Jr., and Derek Quinby; great-grandchildren, Quinn Harger, Kianna Grother, Tynesha Prince, and Jacob Franks; brothers, Johnny Joe Grother of Florida, Mike Grother of Des Moines, and David Grother; sisters, Shirley Bennett of Des Moines, Rita Grother of Colorado, and Mary; and dogs, Sam and Spike.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cliff was born February 19, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Clifford LeRoy and Mary Ann (Sullivan) Grother, Sr. He was married to Dorothy Schamerhorn for 17 years and Delores Rocarek for 15 years. Cliff was a self-employed businessman. He was in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Cliff enjoyed camping, fishing, dirt track racing, bingo, and spending time with his wonderful grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
