Clarissa H. (Knowles) Fishell, 86, of Alburnett, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2005. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005, at River of Life Ministries in Hiawatha, by the Rev. Francis Frangipane. Buial: Lafayette Cemetery in rural Alburnett. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth (LaVonne) Fishell of Orlando, Florida and Russell Fishell Jr. of Cedar Rapids and Phillip (Pam) Fishell Sr. of Alburnett; three daughters, Lynne (Ron) Laird and Sara (Merrill) Strand both of Marion and Amy (Nick) Caves of Alburnett; a brother, Stewart "Bob? (Louise) Knowles of Stratsburg, Virginia; and a sister, Nancy Martin of Olympia, Washington.

Also surviving are twenty-nine grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Terry and Robert; four brothers, Lealand Sr., Artie, Chris and Joe; and two sisters, Mary Stephenson and Rosemarie Christerson.

Clarissa was born the daughter of Arthur and Catherine (Douda) Knowles on March 26, 1919, in Lansing. On April 3, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, she was united in marriage to Russell B. Fishell Sr. He died October 4, 1991. Clarissa worked as a welder in Cedar Rapids during World War II, was a homemaker and worked as a cook at St. Matthew?s Catholic School in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of River of Life Ministries in Hiawatha.

Clarissa had a creative spirit far beyond her time. She walked the example of Christlikeness in all that she did, and was good natured to all who came in contact with her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Her greatest love was Jesus Christ and she lived a devoted life as best explained in Romans 10:8-9

"It is the message of faith which we preach, that if you confess with your lips the Lord Jesus and

believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.?
