Clarence (CJ) McEnany, 74, of Holiday Island, Arkansas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, in his home, following a short illness. Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2004, at St. Matthew?s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Neil Manternach. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Private Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Eaton and husband Randy of Des Moines, Susie McEnany and Nancy Bell and husband Jim, both of Cedar Rapids; a son, Dennis McEnany and wife Michelle of Des Moines; a brother, Allen McEnany and wife Sandy of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Shirley McCullough and husband Robert of Bella Vista, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Katelin Eaton, Nick Eaton, Christopher Bell, Cody Bell, Colby J. McEnany and Madison McEnany; a friend, Lila Akers of Holiday Island; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant children, Lucille Ann and Ann Elizabeth; his wife, Joyce; and two sisters, Elizabeth Ford and Mary Jo Barnes.

Clarence was born September 9, 1929, the son of Patrick Joseph and Lucille Ann (Leaven) McEnany, in Walker, Iowa. A graduate of Immaculate High School in Cedar Rapids, he was united in marriage to Joyce Marron on May 23, 1953. She died in 1986. Prior to his retirement, Clarence was the Sales Manager for Barron Motor Company in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to IFOPA in memory of Clarence and may be directed to Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, 520 Wilson Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
