Clarence M. Beltz, 98, of 208 35th Street Drive S.E., died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, in West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids from complications of age. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Lee Roy Collins. Burial: Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from noon until service time at the funeral home on Saturday.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; two daughters, Arlene (Don) Haugse of Cedar Rapids and Janet (John) Anstrom of Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving are three grandsons, Steve Haugse of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mark Anstrom of Houston, Texas and David Anstrom of Eugene, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Milo and Warren Beltz.

Clarence was born the son of Lewis W. and Sadie "Sarah? (Ring) Beltz on November 30, 1906, in rural North Liberty. On August 23, 1939, in Cedar Rapids he was united in marriage to Frances Cejka. Clarence worked at Ring Hardware for several years and farmed most of his life.

Clarence enjoyed music, writing and his family.
