Clara Sue "Sue" Roan (Sapp)
December 11, 1941 — February 19, 2008
Clara “Sue” Roan, 66 of 2020 18th Street SW, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Quincy, Illinois, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 19, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Randles. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Robin Roan, Aric Roan, both of Cedar Rapids; and Erin Roan-Clayton of Arizona; and two grandchildren, Melea Roan and Brandon Clayton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Preston; a sister, Betty Lou Preston; and Dwight and Hazel Parsons, who raised Sue.
Sue was born December 11, 1941, the daughter of Henry and Grace (Embree) Sapp, in Adams, Illinois. In 1962, she married Robert Roan, Jr. in Tioga, Illinois. They later divorced. A technical illustrator, Sue worked for Square D and Harris Broadcasting, as well as Ruffalo Cody. She was an artist who loved animals, was kind and giving and had a big heart.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Sue.
