Clara (Holub) Weber, 89, of Prairieburg, died, Friday, September 12, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Prairieburg, by Father Wayne Droessler. The family will greet friends from 4 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, where a vigil service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Burial: St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Prairieburg, Iowa.

Survivors include her children, Elisabeth “Betty” Weber of Webster City, Agnes Mundhank of Cedar Rapids, Steven (Patricia) Weber of Des Moines, James (Linda) Weber of Marion, Richard Weber of Marion, Mark (Margaret) Weber of Marion, David Weber of Cedar Rapids, Keith (Linda) Weber of Toddville, Rae Clare Usovsky of Cedar Rapids, Lois (Mike) Shoop of Central City, Terry (Connie) Weber of Sissonville, West Virginia, Brian (Treesa) Weber of Cedar Rapids, Alvin (Karen) Weber of La Porte City and Patrick Weber of Adel, Iowa.

Also surviving are 32 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis; a daughter, Mary Clare; a great-grandson, Dawson Weber, and 3 sisters, Irene Hosch, Frances Wilgenbush, and Lenora Husmann.

Clara was born May 29, 1919, the daughter of Matthew and Frances (Marek) Holub, near Prairieburg, Iowa. She married Lewis H. Weber on November 24, 1941 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prairieburg. He died on February 14, 2006. Clara enjoyed her children and grandchildren, polka dancing, gardening, and making kolaches. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, a charter member of the Hills Mills Homemaker’s Club, and a past correspondent for the Linn Newsletter and Monticello Express.

A memorial fund has been established in Clara’s memory.
