Clair Allen Wilson, 77, of 5633 Colorado Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a brief illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. Del Bear. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include his children, Rick (Marietta) Wilson of Dallas Center, Iowa, Tim (Debbie) Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Vicky (John) Guillory of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Chris (Tanya) Walters, Jessie (Jeff) Phillips, Nick (Sarah) Wilson, Luke (Anna) Wilson and Jade Cross; two great-grandchildren, Lacy Walters and Landon Wilson; and three brothers, Dick Wilson of Anamosa, Iowa, Don (Avis) Wilson of Coggon, Iowa, and Dean (JoAnn) Wilson of Manchester, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jacquelyn; a daughter, Tricia; five brothers, Ed, Steve, Andy, Blaine and Larry; and five sisters, Louise, Irene, Betty, Cory and Carol.
Clair was born March 6, 1930, the son of Edward and Cassandra (Green) Wilson, near Manchester, Iowa. He served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. On September 2, 1950, Clair was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Morris in Iowa City, Iowa. For 26 years, he worked for Quaker Oats as a welder, retiring in 1994.
Clair was a member of the American Legion Hanford Post 5 and the Machinist Union Local 831. He enjoyed and loved spending time with his family.
