Cheryl Annette Aswegan, 44, of Marion, died Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, at Walker Bible Church, Walker, IA, by Rev. Jeremy Hudson. The family will greet friends 2-5 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Walker. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include her husband, Richard of Marion; three children, Jonathan, Mitchell, and Rebecca, all at home; mother, Gloria Caraway of Bath, ME; and four brothers, Mike (Sharon) Mackenzie of Norway, ME, Earl (Dawn) Mackenzie of Pittsburg, PA, Carl (Marlyce) Caraway of Hiawatha, and Matthew Caraway of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Cheryl was born March 24, 1965, in Bath, ME, the daughter of Richard and Gloria (Brown) Caraway. She was a graduate of Metro High School in Cedar Rapids. Cheryl married Richard Aswegan May 9, 1987. She worked as a cashier at Menards for 10 years. Cheryl was a member of the Women’s Auxillary Ray Post #367 of Walker.
