Chase Andrew Martin, 17, of 1482 County Home Rd., went to be with the Lord, from complications of heart failure, Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at St. Luke?s Hospital. Services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2005, at Springville High School in the Machovec Gymnasium by Rev. H. Burr Bryant and Rev. Daryl Martin. Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church in Marion. Burial: Prairie Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, David and Beth Martin of Marion; his sister, Carly Martin of Marion; his maternal grandmother, Violet Gibson of Columbia, Missouri; his paternal grandparents, Loyd and Lois Martin of Marion; his aunts and uncles, Glenda Gibson of Columbia, Missouri, Stephen (Karen) Martin of Springville, Kathy (Tim) Clemens of Marion, Daryl (Maria) Martin of Oskaloosa and Marcia (Jeff) Jordan of Marion; numerous relatives; and his cousin and best friend, Spencer Jordan.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Warren Gibson.

Chase was born May 20, 1988, the son of David and Beth (Gibson) Martin in Cedar Rapids. He was a junior at Springville High School. Chase was a member of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, Prairie Chapel UMYF, Prairie Union Wildcats 4-H Club and Linn County 4-H Youth Council.

Chase was his sister Carly?s biggest fan. He loved his Springville sports very much even though his heart complications would not allow him to participate. He loved farming and the Iowa State Cyclones. Chase was deeply loved and an inspiration to many people. He will be loved in his family?s hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Chase?s memory.
