Charlotte Bernadette Wheeler
December 11, 1917 — February 3, 2003
Charlotte Bernadette Wheeler, 85, of 1585 6th Avenue, died Monday, February 03, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. In accordance with Charlotte?s wishes, her body was donated to Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport for anatomical research. There will be no services or visitation. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her brother, Paul Mellon of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews, including her caregivers, Dennis and Alice Werneburg of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and ten siblings.
Charlotte was born December 11, 1917, in Cresco, Iowa, to Joseph and Bridget Anne (Reilley) Mellon. She married Nathan C. Wheeler June 18, 1960, in Nashua. He died in 2001. Charlotte was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post #298 Auxiliary, both of Marion.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to direct memorials to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids or to a charity of the donors choice in Charlotte?s memory.
