Charlotte G. (Lund) Olson, 83, of Bickford Cottage, Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at Bickford Cottage Friday, March 3, 2006, after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Dan Kolander. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday (March 6) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include her children, Judith Lund Person (Jim) of Alexandria, Virginia, Martha Tomarin of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kathy Lund Sedlet (Steve) of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren, Nicholas Raymond Sedlet, Jocelyn Rae Sedlet, Hannah Lund Sedlet, Emily Rae Person and Tyler James Person; her siblings, Milo Grundahl of Ripon, Wisconsin, Ruth Soma of Denver, Colorado and Henry Grundahl Jr. of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two brothers, Amos and Clarence Grundahl; and two sisters, Mabel Larsen and Helga Grundahl.
Charlotte was born the daughter of Henry and Marit (Briesath) Grundahl on November 6, 1922, in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Raymond H. Lund on September 27, 1947, and he died July 27, 1962. On August 21, 1971, she married Thomas H. Olson. He died in August 1976. Charlotte received her B.A. in home economics from Iowa State University in 1945, and received her M.A. in home economics from the University of Northern Colorado in 1970. She taught home economics at Marion High School from 1963 - 1971. Charlotte was a 50-year member of First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, AAUW, Sons of Norway, NEA, Widows and Widowers and Friendship Force.
