Charlotte E. Morris, 75, of Marion, died Monday, March 29, 2010, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Services: 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 2, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, Marion, by Rev. Mike Morgan. The family will greet friends from 4 – 8 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Waldo; her children, Greg Morris of Marion, Jon (Peg) Morris of Marion, Vicky (Duane) Hanus of Traer, and Nancy (Brad) Mowry of Marion; 9 grandchildren, Jared (Heather) Morris, Lindsay (Andy) Duggan, Brinkley, Chaz, and Shelby Braden, Colton Mowry, and Kelsey, Wyatt, and Troy Hanus; one great-granddaughter, Presley Duggan; a sister, Anna Marie (Lyle) Carpenter of West Salem, Wisconsin; and a brother, John (Louise) Nieland of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Margaret; 2 brothers, Art and Leo Nieland ; and 2 sisters, Mary Beckley and Dorothy Kraus.

Charlotte was born September 30, 1934, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Sturtevant) Nieland, in Luzerne, Iowa. She attended Marion High School. Charlotte married Waldo Morris on June 28, 1958, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion; a member of St. Andrew’s Golf Club in Cedar Rapids and a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Charlotte had a ton of friends and enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, spending time with family and friends. She loved going to football and basketball games to watch her children and grandchildren. Charlotte was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. We will love her forever.

Mom, thank you for teaching us that all people deserve, love, respect, and dignity. Loving you and being loved by you, we will carry on and make you proud.
