Charles E. Ganoe, 54, of Central City, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Jordan’s Grove Church, Central City, IA. The family will greet friends 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Jordan’s Grove Cemetery, Central City, IA. Charles’ family will also be at the FB & Co. in Waubeek on Thursday March 22, 2012 to greet family and friends starting at 3:00 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; parents, LaVern and Doris Ganoe of Central City; four children, Nick (Bobbie) Ganoe, Ian (Gina) Dye, Sarah Hooper, and Dianne Dye, all of Central City; three grandchildren, Lauren Luke, Chloe Ganoe, and Logan Hooper; siblings, Mickey Ganoe of Olathe, KS, Jacki Beatty of Deer River, MN, and Bill Ganoe of Cedar Rapids; and his dog, Kodie.
Charles was born March 28, 1957 in Manchester, IA, the son of LaVern and Doris (McAtee) Ganoe. He graduated from Central City High School, and married Marie Knapp on March 10, 2001 in Jamaica. Charles was a loving husband, devoted father, kind-hearted grandfather, and a friend to all. He was a very hard worker, and an avid outdoorsman. Charles loved to spend time with his family, travel, hunt, and ride his motorcycle.
