Charles Ivan "Charlie" Daugherty

Charles “Charlie” Ivan Daugherty, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, in his home, following a long battle with cancer. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Bill Randles. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann; his daughters, Bonnie (Joe) Fresh, Connie (Stan Garringer) Thompson and Sharon “Cookie” (Jeff) McCarville, all of Cedar Rapids; his son, William (Beth) Daugherty of Mansfield, Texas; eight grandchildren, Ann Sharp, Kaye (Kevin) Reynolds, Max and Jamie Thompson, Brittany and Blake Daugherty, Sam and Madeline McCarville; and a sister, Christina Vickery of Henderson, Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and six brothers.
Charlie was born July 4, 1941, the son of Carl and Vera (Ratcliff) Daugherty, in Shelburn, Indiana. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Barnard in Terre Haute, Indiana, on January 30, 1960. For over 39 years, Charlie worked for Rockwell Collins, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the IBEW #1362.
Charlie was known for his sense of humor and love of laughter. He had many nieces and nephews who were all very special to him. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
