Cecile I. Cross, 83, of 1316 of 1st Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at home, due to smoke inhalation. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by Rev. Mark Thomas. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include her children, Virginia (Richard) Urban of Cedar Rapids, Donna (Michael) Missel of Mt. Auburn, and Lydia (Mike) Pash of Cedar Rapids; 22 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Little of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; a son, Marshall; and a daughter, Sharon.
Cecile was born June 30, 1921, in Iron Hill, Iowa. On August 17, 1941, she was united in marriage to Carl Cross in Kahoka, Missouri. He died in 1979. A homemaker, Cecile also cleaned for Dr. Anderson?s office in Center Point. She was a member of the Central Assembly Church in Cedar Rapids. An avid reader, Cecile had fun with her great sense of humor and was loved by all.
