Cathy Washburn

Cathy Washburn, 64, of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. Please be respectful of social distancing guidelines and we encourage everyone to please wear a facemask. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Dunkard Cemetery in Midway, Iowa.
Cathy was born August 3, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of James and Rita (Stanek) Washburn. She graduated from Alburnett High School. Cathy was a member of the Toddville Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed planting flowers, being outdoors, and going to auctions. Cathy especially loved the time spent with her grandson, Chance. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cathy is survived and lovingly remembered by her father, James; son, Jeremy Washburn of Alburnett; daughter, Deanna (Brad) Washburn-Kearney of O’Fallon, Missouri; one grandson, Chance Kearney; four brothers, Don, Ron, Ralph, and Ray Washburn; and one sister, Susan Kinkead.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita.
