Carolyn L. Hill
January 21, 1942 — February 3, 2006
Carolyn L. Hill, 64, of 641 21st Avenue S.W. died peacefully surrounded by her family by her bedside at home on February 3, 2006, from cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. The family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Hill; two daughters, Kim Hill, K-Lea (Dennis) Simonsen; two sons, Brett Hill and Jamie (Lynn) Hill from Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Tom (Elsie) Ealy, Mike (Karen) Ealy, Ted (Penny) Ealy from Cedar Rapids and Marty (Lisa) Ealy of Urbana; five sisters, Merlene (Dick) Swanson, Colleen (Russ) Levins, Susie (Louie) Cavros, Julie (Paul) Morton, and Joy Tiernan from Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews; and a SPECIAL dog "Lucky?.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Ellen Ealy; a brother, Dennis Ealy; and a sister, Vickie Garoutte.
Carolyn was born January 21, 1942, in Lohrville, Iowa to Wayne and Ellen Ealy. She went to Adaza, Lohrville, Churdan, Atkins, and Williamsburg schools. Carolyn married Edward Hill on October 11, 1958, in Jackson, Minnesota. Carolyn was a waitress for many years at Country Kitchen and last at the Elks Lodge until she took ill with cancer. Carolyn dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carolyn loved going to Meskwaki in Tama. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 47 years.
