Carolyn Stordahl, 78, of Marion, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, at her home. Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011, at First Congregational Church in Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Bob David. The family will greet friends from 4 - 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Norman; her children, Mons Curtis Stordahl of Sanford, Florida, and Burkley Jay Stordahl of Marion, Iowa; and a granddaughter, Gunevere Renee Robles of Wichita, Kansas.
Carolyn was born June 19, 1933, 1 of 13 children, the daughter of George and Mary (Savage) Beaumier, Sr., in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. She married Norman Stordahl on October 14, 1954 in Good Fellow AFB, Texas. She served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Carolyn was a nurse’s aide and activity director at Crestview Acres for many years, then worked as a housekeeper at St. Luke’s Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo and reading.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Carolyn’s memory.
