Carole A. Dreismeier, 73, of Central City, died Sunday, October 6, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; two sons, Mike (Sue) of Cedar Rapids and Joey (Lisa) of Marion; a brother, Ray (Mary) Rawlings of Cathedral City, California; three grandchildren, Eric, Caitlin, and Chris; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Bill, Jim, Ralph, and Daryl; and a sister, Shirley.
Carole was born April 15, 1940, the daughter of Zenith and Berniece (Yager) Rawlings in Knox County, Nebraska. She was in the 1st graduating class from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids in 1958. Carole married Jerry Dreismeier on August 15, 1959, in Glenwood. She worked as a manager and secretary at a local business.
Carole enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, gardening, watching birds, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
