Carole Jean Krumm, 79, of Walker, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at her home. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church, Center Point, Iowa, conducted by Pastor David Hanson. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014, at the church. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker, Iowa.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca Hanrahan of Overland Park, Kansas, Michael Alden of Hiawatha, Iowa, Debora (Mark) Moser of West Union, Iowa, and Elizabeth (Jeff) Kurth of Marion, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Rachel, Benjamin, Thomas, Hanna, Adam, Kate, Ashley and Megan; six great-grandchildren, Carter, Ella, Jason Jr., Oliva, Zander and Adelynn; significant other, Paul Nielsen; and siblings, Dale Krumm and Joan Biederman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Andrew Alden; grandson, Jason Alden; brother, Dewayne Krumm; sister, Dona Cunningham.
Carole was born on February 16, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Julius and Flora (Stolte) Krumm. She married Harold Alden and they had five children and later divorced. Then she married Paul Nielsen and they later divorced. Carole worked at Rockwell Collins and at Axiom. She was a lifetime member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Center Point, Iowa, where she played the organ for 57 years.
