Carol Ann Lekin Sr.

 Carol Ann Lekin Sr., 78, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at her home. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at River of Life Church, located at 3801 Blairs Ferry Road NE in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

 Carol was born on October 15, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Paul and Eileen (Hutton) Lekin. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and went on to become a CNA for most of her life. She also worked for MCI. Carol enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching soap operas, and spending time talking to her friends on the telephone. Most of all, her family was especially important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 Carol is survived and lovingly remembered by her four children, Carol (Rebecca) Lekin Jr. of Marion, DJ Fleetwood of Phoenix, Arizona, Somer Lekin of Marion, and Andre Hedgepeth of Scottsdale, Arizona; nine grandchildren, Lasha’ Lekin, Uriah Royél (Chanse Lekin), Alexis Lashá Fleetwood, Amoni West, Aiden Fleetwood, Clifton West, Adrea West, and Herndrixx Hedgepeth; five great-grandchildren, Zayden, Kamora, Anthony Jr., A’zayla, and Johnathan Jr.; three brothers, David, Craig, and Shawn Lekin; and one sister, Denise Lekin.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Lekin; and great-granddaughter, A’moura Thompson.
