Carol Jean (Nunemaker) Huber, 57, of 715 Park Court, Hiawatha, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, after a lengthy illness. Services 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hiawatha, by the Rev. Neil Manternach. Friends may call from 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday (March 7) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, where a parish vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Survivors include her husband, Tim; her mother, Jean Nunemaker of Hiawatha; four children, Angela Jane (Rod) Moore of Vinton, Clint James (Rebecca) Huber of Charleston, South Carolina, and Spring Marie and Tara Jean Huber of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Zachary, Haley and Lexis, Lauren, Jason and Wendy; a brother, Steven L. (Celeste) Nunemaker of Solon; a sister, Kristin K. Wiltgen of Brighton, Colorado; many nieces and nephews; and her three loving cats, Pudzley, Gabby and Nikers.
Carol was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Joan Houser; and both sets of grandparents.
Carol was born March 1, 1947, in Cedar Rapids to Francis L. and Jean (Malinowski) Nunemaker. She graduated from Coggon High School in 1965 and from Kirkwood Community College in 1989 with a degree as an electronic technician. She was employed at Mercy Medical Center while going to school. On April 22, 1967, she was joined in marriage with Timothy J. Huber at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. She especially enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren. She was a gentle person with an infectious smile who touched many lives in many different ways. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
