Carol Ann Franklin, 66, of Central City, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, in a car accident near her home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at St. Stephen?s Catholic Church, Central City, by the Rev. Wayne Droessler. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday (April 21) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City, where a scripture service will begin at 7 p.m.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald; a son, Michael Franklin and wife Amber of Marion; a grandson, Dustin Franklin of Alpharetta, Georgia; a stepgrandson, Justin Dennis of Corsicana, Texas; two sisters, Eileen (Dean) Wayson of San Diego, California, and Mary (Ivan) Struzynski of North Liberty; two brothers, Joe Ernst of Hiawatha and Earl (JoAnne) Ernst of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Gary Franklin.
Carol was born October 24, 1936, the daughter of Leo and Margaret Kleitsch Ernst in Urbana, Iowa. On February 1, 1958, she married Ronald Franklin in Cedar Rapids. Carol was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Stephen?s Catholic Church.
