Carlyn M. Hoeger, 77, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Mercy One Senior Care, Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church in Delhi, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 19, 2020, at 10:30 a.m., St. John’s Catholic Church, Delhi, with burial at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville, Iowa is assisting the family. All guests are respectfully encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Carlyn was born August 19, 1943, the daughter of Carl and Helen (Gudenkauf) Trumm of New Vienna, Iowa. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1961. On August 20, 1963, Carlyn Trumm married Donald J. Hoeger at the Worthington Catholic Church. She stayed home to raise their family on the farm and later went to work at Marilyn’s Hallmark. Carlyn enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Delhi where she taught religion classes.

Carlyn is survived by her husband, Don J. Hoeger of Delhi; children, Linda (Joe) Goldsmith of Earlville, Gary (Patti) Hoeger of Earlville, Al Hoeger of Delhi, Sandy (Mike) Mensen of Delhi, Mike Hoeger of Manchester, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, Carrie (Ryan) Larson, Eric Goldsmith, Nikki (Courtney) Goodchild, Holly Hoeger (Jeff Chesnut), Heidi Hoeger, Chris Hoeger, Shawnae Hoeger (Jeremy Fischer), Macy Hoeger (Camden Leonard), Olivia Hoeger, Jordan Mensen (Brie Nielson), Megan Mensen (Rob Bockenstedt), Brianna Mensen, Michael Hoeger II; 8 great-grandchildren, Brynn , Anika, and Trace Larson, Cal Goodchild, Kaela, Kylie and Lucas Chesnut, and Lakelyn Glass; brothers, David (Sharon) Trumm, Danny (Cathy) Trumm; sisters, Delores (Bill) Kelchen, and Patti Trumm.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Helen Trumm; in-laws, Linus and Delores (Eike) Hoeger; brother, VernonTrumm; sister-in-law Carol Trumm; brother-in-law, Richard Fitzpatrick and granddaughter, Karli Hoeger.
