Carl M. Watts, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, at his home. Per Carl’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Arrangements made by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Survivors include his children, Jeffrey, Emily and Christopher; sister, Barb Smith; and seven grandchildren.
Carl was born on October 17, 1948, in Joplin, Missouri, son of Mac and Frieda (Lehrling) Watts. He was raised in Seneca, Missouri. He graduated from Seneca High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and track and was a member of the National Honor Society. Carl attended Missouri Southern College in 1967 and graduated from Drake University in 1970. He married Winnie Kay Weinmann in 1970, which they later divorced. Carl was employed by Sears Roebuck & Company from 1970 to 1980 and from 1980 to 1994, he was employed by Rockwell International. He was a friend of Bill W.
