Candace M. Schwertfeger, 30, of 4850 16th Avenue SW, died, Thursday, September 26, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a lengthy illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2002, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Ken Glandorf. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2002, at the funeral home. Burial: Zion Cemetery, Millersburg, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; her children, Richard III, of Fairfax, Justin, Cheyenne and Aric, at home; her father and mother-in-law, Richard and Sharon Schwertfeger, of Fairfax; and two sisters-in-law, Jacki and Roger Steil of Hiawatha and Sandy and Charles Munson of Cedar Rapids; her parents, LeRoy and Barb Ingram, of Chariton, Iowa; sister, Kristi Burton, of Knoxville, Iowa; halfsister, Tenaa Goben and David of DesMoines; her grandmother, Doris Klein, Chariton, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
Candace was born February 9, 1972. She graduated from Tama High School and received her A.A. Degree from Kirkwood Community College. On October 24, 1998, Candace was united in marriage to Richard Schwertfeger, Jr. at the Little Brown Church in Nausha, Iowa. She was an advocate for Down?s Syndrome children and treasured spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. She will be deeply missed.
