Coleen C. "Rosa? Carpenter Evans, 72, of 1616 Richmond Rd. NE, died Sunday, November 2, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Services: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Sister Peg Murphy. The family will greet friends from noon until service time on Wednesday. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Stevens, Stephanie Willits and husband Bob and Michelle Jenney and husband John, all of Cedar Rapids; a stepdaughter, Julie York and husband Lee of Cedar Rapids; a stepson, Chandler Evans and wife Susan of Des Moines; a brother, George Rosa Jr. of Chariton, Iowa, nine grandchildren; John, Jason and Tiffany Jenney, Jennifer Stevens, Justin and Joshua Willits, Jessica Barkdoll, and Mason and Payton Evans; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Julian; and two special friends, Louise Goering of Chariton, Iowa and Toni Jones of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; her parents and a sister, Ruth Lorenat.
Coleen was born August 5, 1931, the daughter of George E. and Maye "Edwards? Rosa, in Chariton, Iowa. She married Allen C. Evans on April 26, 1975, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He passed away on July 28, 2003. Coleen worked at Mercy Medical Center as an Administrative Assistant for 10 years. She loved bowling and golfing. She will be greatly missed.
