Byron Byrd Kinsley, 65, born July 6, 1947, in Richmond, Virginia, passed away January 17, 2013, at the Marshalltown Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the only child of the late Mark Royden and Aria (Coles) Kinsley of Richmond, Virginia.
Byron entered the military and spent his tour of duty in the Demilitarization Zone in Korea, after which he was honorably discharged. He attended Columbia Union College in Washington D.C. , and his chosen profession was Physician’s Assistant.
He enjoyed piloting small planes, traveling, and photography. After rapidly declining health in 2008, Byron moved to the Knoxville Iowa Veterans Facility, and then to the Iowa Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Byron is survived by his cousin and her family in Ohio; Evelyn (Beeber) Greene, her spouse Louis, and their children, Beverly Hill, Barbara Greene, and Dale Greene.
He will be greatly missed by his lifelong friends Larry Wright and his family.
Byron will be interred at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013, as per his wishes.
Day is done, gone the sun, from the lake, from the hill, from the sky. All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.
