Byron Carl Keister

Byron “Bob” Keister, 76, a resident of Silver Pines Retirement Community, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there Sunday, December 6, 2009. Services: 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 11, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. John Louk. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa; children, Linda Keister and Angie (Corey Gienapp) Keister; grandchildren, Nick Brammer and Abbie Gienapp; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Keister, Edna Pesek, Margaret McCune and Helen (Dean) Gibbs.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donald Keister.
Born February 8, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Byron was the son of Byron and Margaret (Brown) Keister. On October 20, 1956, he was united in marriage to Teresa McCune. He served in the U.S. Army. Byron retired from Justice Electric and was a member of the IBEW #405.
Byron was also a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Memorials may be made in Byron’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
