Burton H. “Rocky” Moore, 55, of Delhi, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness.

A Prayer Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Delhi, by Rev. John Kramer. Scattering of his cremains will be at a later date in West Brook, Maine. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester is in charge of arrangements.

Rocky was born November 17, 1953 in Portland, Maine, the son of Burton H., Sr. and Lillian G. (Drummond) Moore. He attended schools in Maine. On April 23, 1971 Rocky enlisted in the U.S. Army where he drove truck while stationed in Alaska. Rocky was discharged on April 12, 1973. On July 7, 1973 he was united in marriage to Anitalee Spescha at Norwalk, Connecticut. The couple settled in Portland, Maine where Rocky was a truck driver for the city. In 1979, the couple moved to Florida where he drove for Coca-Cola. They moved back to Portland in 1989 and he worked for the state. Rocky and Anita moved to Delhi in 1995 where he drove for Cedar Valley Asphalt/L.L. Pelling. In 2006, Rocky began working as a forklift operator at the Swiss Colony in Peosta.

Rocky enjoyed golfing and league bowling. He was a fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Socks and NASCAR.

Rocky is survived by his wife, Anita Moore of Delhi; three children, Stacylee (Chuck) Lisky of Delhi, April (David) Linn of Manchester and Billie Jo Moore of Delhi; six grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Lillian Moore.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a memorial fund in Rocky’s honor.
