Buelah Dayton, 84, a resident of Crestview Acres Care Center in Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, June 06, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center, following a long illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Bill Harnish. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial: Forest Chapel Cemetery, rural Anamosa.
Survivors include her children, Janice (William) Elliott of Shellsburg, Vivian Peterson of Cedar Rapids, John (Jane) Dayton of St. Louis, Missouri, Connie (Gary) Marti of Central City, Nebraska and Mary (Mark) Dodge of Cedar Rapids; fifteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maxine Topping and Velma Northrup; a brother, Ralph Van Voltenburg; and two grandchildren, Angela and Shane Marti.
Buelah was born June 9, 1919, the daughter of Otis Washington and Rosa Mae (Pavin) Van Voltenburg in Morley, Iowa. Buelah was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Buelah?s memory.
