Brian A. Necas, 46, of Manchester, formerly of Dubuque passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a result of complications associated with pneumonia.

Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Manchester by Rev. Roger Henry. Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.

Brian was born April 6, 1964 in Dubuque, the son of Bernard and Floriene Necas of Dubuque. Brian was a gifted cook which eventually led to owning a restaurant in Manchester. He later drove truck for Swiss Valley Ag Service. Brian was disabled for the past nine years as a result of an accidental fall from a grain bin.

Brian was an active golfer and bowler until health problems prevented him from doing both. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, target shooting, and watching his beloved “Green Bay Packers. Brian will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, generous spirit, and his willingness to openly express his love for his family. He enjoyed watching movies, following politics, and loved his dog, Angus. He was a military and aviation enthusiast and enjoyed attending air shows with his family.

Brian is survived by his two children, Blake at home and Tanya of Manchester; his parents, Bernard and Floriene Necas of Dubuque; a sister, Jill (Todd) Link of Dubuque; a brother, Bruce (Marie) Necas of Winneconne, WI; niece and nephews, Lindsi Necas, Blair Necas, Collin and Connor Link and several aunts, uncles and cousins and his former wife, Lanette Necas of Manchester.

A Memorial Fund has been established in Brian’s name.
